New Economic Inquiry Editor Appointed!

WEAI welcomes Tim Salmon as the new EI Editor

In December 2020, Wes Wilson announced his intent to step down as the Editor of Economic Inquiry after serving for nine highly-successful years and handling close to 5,000 submissions. A search committee was appointed in January and a search was launched to find a replacement -- large shoes to fill indeed!

After thorough review of the eight applicants, the search committee put forth Tim Salmon as its recommendation to fill the position. In a unanimous vote during the annual meeting of the WEAI Executive Board in June, Tim Salmon was appointed as the new Editor of Economic Inquiry. Tim has served as a Specialized Co-editor at EI since 2011 so is well versed in the inner workings of the journal. And finally thank you to search committee members Alan Auerbach, Kathleen McGarry, Thomas Lemieux, Julie Cullen, and Juan Carlos Suarez Serrato for their time and commitment for filling this position that is so essential to the journal and the association at large.
