EI Symposium: New Energy Economics

Edited by Charles F. Mason, University of Wyoming, and Jeremy Weber, University of Pittsburgh

Symposium Introduction

The symposium's call for papers described an energy landscape that points to a new energy economics defined by the governance challenges posed by disruptive technologies in a climate of heightened environmental and health concerns. The three papers published as part of the symposium speak to diverse dimensions of these challenges, covering the natural gas, coal, and solar industries and looking at experiences at the residential (residential solar adopters), the local (municipalities and schools), and industry level (the coal industry).
