WEAI conferences bring together audiences from all over the world and provide an opportunity for the economic community to collaborate, share and learn.

We encourage professionals at all stages in their career to come and experience a WEAI conference.

WEAI's Annual Conference is held in the summer each year and attracts over 1,000 attendees from around the world. The program includes over 300 concurrent sessions from all areas of economics, as well as a distinguished Keynote Address, the Presidential Address and Luncheon, the Graduate Student Workshop, Professional Development sessions, and participation by over 20 Allied Societies. Regular conference sites include San Diego, San Francisco, Denver, Honolulu, Seattle, Portland and Vancouver B.C.

The International Conference began in 1994 and brings between 300 and 500 economists from around the world together to share the latest in research and methodology. WEAI has partnered with top institutions for hosting the conference such as University of Newcastle (Australia), Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (Santiago), Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Victoria University of Wellington and Massey University (Wellington), Keio University (Tokyo), Queensland University of Technology School of Business (Brisbane), Ryukoku University (Kyoto), Peking University Guanghua School of Management (Beijing), and Academia Sinica (Taiwan). This conference offers an exciting opportunity for the exchange of ideas amongst economists from both sides of the Pacific. Plan to join us at this international "Marketplace of Ideas!"

Both WEAI conference series have included keynote addresses by Nobel laureates Peter Diamond, James Mirrlees, Kenneth Arrow, Robert Engle, Christopher Sims, Daniel McFadden, James Heckman, David Card, as well as distinguished scholars such as Orley Ashenfelter, Janet Yellen, George Kaufman, Edward Kane, Emmanuel Saez, Janet Currie, Charles Manski and many others. The participation-oriented program format along with addresses by leading economists provides the best mix of opportunities for professional growth for economists at all levels and fields of specialization.
